The Finals Cancelled
We waited as long as we could to do so, but we have had to cancel the VC Finals scheduled for Jay Peak Resort on March 28. The entire resort will be closed due to concerns over the coronavirus. Jay’s president/GM, Steve Wright, wrote a letter explaining why and you can read it here.
Jay Peak Resort is offering full refunds on lodging to all Vertical Challenge Finals families. To cancel yours, please call their Central Reservations Office toll free at 1-800-451-4449 and they will take care of it for you. Please be patient as they will be getting a lot of calls for all of their events, not just the VC. Keep in mind you don’t have to make that call today – they will continue to honor the refund offer into the foreseeable future.
We apologize for having to make this call because we know so many of you were looking forward to the finals – The VC and Jay Peak aimed to prioritize the well-being of all our attendees in making this decision.
Cynthia’s Challenge
Of course, this is especially tough because we had to cancel our worthy fundraiser this weekend, too. The weekend raises money to ease the financial burden borne by children and their families faced with overwhelming medical needs. Our goal is to raise $65,000, and that goal remains in place. If you’d like to donate toward it, you can do so at CynthiasChallenge.org.
Social Media
Follow the VC on our Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook pages. We’ll post any further updates there. We’ll also be rolling out some content in the coming weeks to help you relive some of the great moments that happened on tour this year. We’d love to hear about yours, too, so feel free to tag us and use the hashtag #skivc.
Thank You
From Frank, Heather, and the whole VC crew, we want to let you know how much we appreciate your patience with us as we have tried to sort through everything. We also appreciate your incredible support throughout the season. We will be back stronger than ever next year!
